Meet The Team

St Mark’s relies on many people, mostly volunteers, to organise and manage our busy parish life. Here are some of those you might meet.

The Clergy

Rev Tim Cockell

As Rector, Tim has overall responsibility for St Mark’s church.

Tim grew up in Reading and had a career in engineering before becoming a priest. He trained for ordination at Queen’s College, Birmingham, where he met his wife Nell, who is also ordained. Tim was curate in Bracknell and a vicar in the Rugby Team Ministry before the family came to St Mark’s in 2004.

Tim’s hobbies include computing, reading Terry Pratchett and cooking a mean curry.

Tim is ably assisted by two curates, Joy and George.

Churchwardens

An essential piece of the St Mark’s puzzle, churchwardens are responsible for many of the practical aspects of running the church, from overseeing the upkeep of the building to ensuring our Sunday services run smoothly.

If you have a practical question about the church or churchyard, you can contact the churchwardens at the following email address: msgilbert79@homemail.com
